Unique to behold, the Sparta is essentially two complete turntables—each including a skeletal, metal-framed plinth fabricated of solid aluminum boards with phenolic inserts—one situated immediately above the other. Both hang freely from the same, patented, four-post, pillar suspension system.

The dual-platters, spinning in opposite directions and driven by separate motors solve the problem of “torsional forces”, that are inherent in typical spring suspended sub platter ‘tables where the sub platter frame rotates in synch with the platter. In other words, as the platter spins, it produces frame movement because no platter, no matter how carefully balanced, is perfectly balanced.

While these torsional forces can be damped, Kronos completely eliminates torsional forces in its suspended designs, thus providing the isolation suspended ‘tables can provide, without the torsional movement downside.

By using constrained-layer-damped shelves in a beautifully machined aluminum rack, with both the shelves themselves and the struts on which the shelves sit separated from one another by roller bearings, Symposium's Isis did not just turn resonant energy more efficiently into heat; it also seemed to more effectively drain that energy away without feeding it (or select parts of it) back into the items sitting n the shelves.

High quality construction techniques include an all-aluminium chassis, stainless steel faraday cage to isolate digital sections, multiple power transformers in a stainless steel enclosure, and multiple regulation stages. These components raise the bar for all digital products.

Pandora Signature offer true native DSD 1x and 2x functionality over USB. The entire DSP processing section is replaced (pictured above, click to enlarge). The new section includes an advanced Xilinx gate-array which allows the DSP to be completely bypassed for pure DSD 1x and 2x operation. No alteration of DSD data occurs. Many DACs in the market that claim to play DSD actually convert the data to PCM and thereby completely lose the purpose of DSD operation.
